Paul and Brendan handcraft these theatres in a small workshop near Saffron Walden in the heart of rural Essex, UK. All of our products are made using modern and traditional materials which have been approved for safe use within the toy industry. Wooden Pilchard is a member of The British Toymakers Guild. In 1999 the company won The Robert Nathan Shield for best newcomer to The British Toymakers Guild and was also highly commended in their Toymakers Cup. Wooden Pilchard has been featured in Harper’s and Queens magazine and is on their 'A' list of highly recommended toymakers.
